Process
Once you’ve accepted our proposal and we’ve receive your deposit, we follow a fairly straightforward outline.
First, your project is set up into an online project manager where we’ll keep track of all aspects of your website including the site map, content, copy, photographs etc. This is where you’ll add all of these items for us so we can manage them in one central accessible location. You’ll receive a login and a password to access it..
Consultation
Then we discuss your project in-depth. We’ll set up a meeting either by phone or in person to discuss your ideas and goals for your website - how you want it to look and feel and the type of experience you want a visitor to have. With that, we’ll work with you on creating your site map which is the road map of your content. You’re welcome to add any follow-up thoughts or ideas we might not have covered on the project manager or schedule a phone consultation.
Design
Keeping your ideas and goals in mind, we’ll create a “mock-up” or a “comp” of your website. This is simply an image of what your website might look like including the different sections and page layouts. Once approved, the design is moved into development where we’ll turn it into a functioning website. Design and structural changes at this point are often out of scope, so please keep this in mind. This is also when your content will be due and if you’ve hired us for custom photography, when the sessions will take place.
Development
With your content (copy, writing, photographs, products, etc), we’ll develop your website. This part includes designing pages per the terms of your project scope – content, images, custom banners, sidebar advertising, as well as HTML & CSS programming and content management system customization.
During this phase, you may hear from us less frequently while we’re working on building the technical aspects of your site. In the event we have additional questions, it will be helpful for timely correspondence so we can deliver your website per the milestones we’re targeting.
Pre-Launch
The pre- launch is when we’ll review your website together. We’ll also do some last-minute testing and fine-tuning to catch any problems before it goes live.
If you’re a blogger already or have an existing website, getting started will be a snap.
For those of you who’ve never worked within a content management system, we’ll provide basic instruction and give you access to our online library and tutorial guides on how to manage your website the week following or prior to your site launch.
This is usually when your balance is due.
The Launch
This is when we move the site to your domain so it’s live and in living color for all the world to enjoy. We suggest you share it to your immediate circle and then promote it out to your customers/fans.
Post Launch Support
For up to two weeks after your website has been launched, we provide support for your questions, concerns, very minor edits or any quirks that might pop-up. We are available to assist you beyond those two weeks -- but support requests are subject to our hourly rate and current schedule which means, we may not be able drop everything and respond to your request, but we'll definitely respond/take care of it in a timely manner.
